FILMINI 3.0

FILMINI 3.0 — The awards

On 17^th of October 2009 in 19:30 the international jury gave the awards to the films from the competition programmes of FILMINI 3.0:

• Best Short Film is The Ground Beneath, dir. Rene Hernandez

• Best Balkan Short Film is Left Right, dir. Stavros Raptis & Argiris Germanidis
• Best Animation is Yellow Belly End, dir. Philip Bacon
• Best Bulgarian Short Film is Magicians, dir. Andrey Getov
• Best Bulgarian Animation is Seed, dir. Asparuh Petrov

Audience Award goes to Velislava Gospodinova and her animation The Lighthouse.

FILMINI International Short Film Festival is a competitive festival of short films. FILMINI 3.0 aims to contribute to the promotion and production of artistic short films, and to develop a spirit of friendship and cooperation among filmmakers from all over the world.

The Festival program includes several competitions of short films as well as non-competitive film programs, retrospectives, tributes and other accompanying screenings and events.

The Festival accepts for its competition programs fiction and animated short films with in-between related genres like fiction-animation, fiction-experimental and animation-experimental, as long as:

• The production was completed after January 1st 2008;
• Films are no more than 20 minutes long;

An International Jury of three members will award the following prizes:

• The grand prix prize € 1,200;
• Best animation film award € 500;
• Best Balkan film award € 1,000;
• Kodak award for Best film from the national competition;
• Audience award.

All awards will go to the directors of the respective films.

FILMINI 2.0

Only 72 short films from all around the world were selected for the second edition of FILMINI. Special guests at the festival were Adrian Sitaru, Francis Gavelle, Tomas Conde and Phil Mulloy. The festival jury awarded films in four competition programmes, while visitors to the festival numbered more than 10 000 people.
